We would like to notify all our fans that there is an offering on eBay that is not authorized by The Ventures. Buyer beware – caveat emptor.
While Wilson Brothers Guitars and The Ventures do not make it a policy to respond to and contest negative comments or actions of our customers and fans, we feel it necessary to take a stand where our good names are slandered. Jack Pimentel of JP Guitars has posted a prototype guitar on eBay for sale. We have filed an infringement report with eBay on this article and have requested its removal from the site. Mr. Pimentel has claimed that this guitar is owned by him and that he has the right to sell it because no agreement was reached to produce the guitar. While it is true that the guitar was in the development stage and that Don and Tim Wilson were involved in that development, the product offered by JP Guitars was not of the quality, design or functionality we required. Mr. Pimentel was paid for his efforts and the prototype is owned by Wilson Brothers Guitars, Tim Wilson and Don Wilson. In addition, Mr. Pimentel has refused to return the neck on which the design was based. That matter is currently being litigated. Any prospective buyer of this guitar offered on eBay should be aware that we will protect our property rights and will consider the sale and purchase of this guitar an infringement of those rights.
