The Vemtires have just released a great new compilation CD “Surfin’ Guitars”, as a 50th Anniversary Commemorative Album. The CD features 20 tracks, from the obvious favorites – Hawaii Five-O, Walk Don’t Run ’64, Pipeline, Wipeout, etc. – to the more unusual – Hurricane, Bombora, The Ninth Wave, Misirlou – to some of the oftentimes-overlooked Ventures’ originals such as Flashback, Tsunami Surfin’ , Hawaiian Moon and Blue Dawn. Any way you look at it, this is essential surf music, and worthy of inclusion in your Ventures’ collection.
The front cover artwork features an amazing “woodie”, complete with a rack of surfboards, the back cover shows a surfer dude, and the CD itself looks like a minature vinyl LP, in the early 1960’s style.
