We are very pleased to announce that there will be 2 new CD releases in Japan next month, the release date for both being June 19. The first CD, on the EMI Japan label (now known as Universal Japan due to the merger) is called ‘The Ventures Play Yuming’ and is comprised of 12 new tracks and one track recorded back in the early 1990s called ‘Haru Yo Koi’. Yuming is a very famous female Japanese singer and all of the titles on this CD are Ventures’ versions of her hits. It is a very eclectic album and is sure to provoke comment! The second CD, on the Pony Canyon label, has 6 completely new tracks – written by The Ventures for this CD – some enhanced remixes of live tracks and some other surprises. The title of the CD is ‘The Ventures – Then, Now and Forever’. The price will be $30 for the first CD and $28 for the second. We will be posting these two new CDs in the ‘New Releases’ CD section of our on-line store, with full background information, track-listing etc. If you are planning to order, please do so as soon as possible, so we can place an order for delivery before the end of June. We would like to have a good ‘guesstimate’ as to how many copies to have shipped to us from Japan so that nobody is disappointed. I will also be able to obtain more copies when I visit Japan in August, for anyone who misses out on the first shipment.
