Mel Taylor & The Magics In Action

Mel Taylor & The Magics In Action
Posted on August 8, 2013 .

I recently found out that Warner Bros. Records in Japan have just re-released the Mel Taylor & The Magics ‘In Action’ album on CD. This was originally released in 1966 on vinyl of course and, shortly after Mel passed away (17 years ago this week), they re-issued it on CD with a bonus track. The current re-issue consists of only the original 12 tracks. Since this has never been widely available (at least not since 1966, almost 50 years ago – gulp!), I imagine there will be some fans who would like to buy a copy.

The tracks are as follows:

Drums A Go-Go, From Russia With Love, The ‘In’ Crowd, Bullseye, Bongo Rock, Skokiaan, Watermelon Man, Harlem Nocturne, A Taste of Honey, The Creeper, No E xit, Cherry Pink and Apple Blossom White

This is a budget CD, issued as part of Warner Bros. Japan’s ‘Masters of Pop’ series. I am hoping I can obtain copies at a discounted rate in order to offer it at no more than $15. (Amazon is offering it for $17.99, with availabiity next week). If anyone is interested, please e-mail me directly at so I can estimate how many copies to ask for. Again, I will be leaving for Japan a week from today (August 15) so please let me know as soon as possible. If I can obtain a copy of the artwork for the CD (should be the same as last time but you never know), I will add it to our on-line store.
