The first few shows of the tour are already in the history books and I have been informed that, after a few minor changes since the beginning of the tour, the set list is as follows:
First Set

1 Gimme Some Lovin’
2 Out of Limits

4 Plaquemines Parish/Kyoto no Koi (Medley on sitar by Gerry).
5 Hawaii 5-0
6 Proud Mary/ Who’ll Stop the Rain
7 On my way Home (Gerry: original from new CD “Hits and New”)
8 Put It Where You Want (by the Jazz Crusaders)

Second set
(Bob – lead / Ian – rhythm / Gerry – bass)
1 Medley: WDR / Perfidia/ Yellow Jacket/ WDR ’64
2 Big Surf (Ventures original from “Hits and New”)
3 Ramrod
4 Blue Dawn
5 Tokyo Lonely Night (written for the Ventures by Takami, of ‘The Alphee’, a popular Japanese band)
You can see that there are a number of new songs added to the regular set list, as well as many old favorites – which can never been omitted! I have been told that the audiences are enjoying the shows very much and I look forward to seeing them myself in a few weeks.
For anyone who is interested, you can find “Sailing to Rio” on Gerry’s son Kane McGee’s YouTube Channel. This has not been recorded (yet!) for any CDs.
