Many of you may know that, back in the 1970s, The Ventures recorded with many of the hot musicians of the time. In 1972, they recorded an album entitled ‘Rock and Roll Forever’. Harvey Mandel, as one of the great guitarists of the time, and a good friend of The Ventures, played on the sessions for that album, along with Larry ‘The Mole’ Taylor (Mel’s brother), both Harvey and Larry also being members of Canned Heat. Today, Harvey is battling a severe form of skin cancer: he has had multiple surgeries on his face, leaving him with major medical bills. Please look at the attached link below to read more. The Ventures are donating special items for a fund-raising auction on his behalf, organized by his sister. Your thoughts, prayers and any donations would be greatly appreciated by Harvey and his family.
