It was with great sadness that we learned of the passing of David Carr last week. As most people know, Dave found fame with the British group, The Fortunes (‘You’ve Got Your Troubles, I’ve Got Mine’): he was a classically trained piano player and a superb arranger. Dave was a great friend to The Ventures and had collaborated with the group on many projects over the years. Back when he first came to the US, The Ventures met him and helped him to stay in the country to continue his career here. In the 1970’s, he appeared with The Ventures on tour in Japan, and co-wrote a number of songs with the group over the years. During the 1990s, and up through very recently, Dave did much of the arranging for The Ventures’ recording sessions, and also played on many of their albums and CDs. Dave, we will miss you dearly.
