Jeff Baxter, formerly of The Doobie Brothers and Steely Dan, showed up at the Birchmere in Alexandria and, to the delight of the fans, sat in with The Ventures for part of the show. 

 

Jeff has been a Ventures’ fan since he was very young – he remembers sending a letter to The Ventures’ fan club back in the 1960’s and receiving a reply with advice on a choice of guitars.  Obviously, the information worked!

 

Jeff has recorded several tracks with The Ventures on some of their current CDs.
