The Ventures have once again returned to the studio to record a new album.  No title has been decided at this time.

 

After the success of the last CD released in the spring of 2007 “Rocky!” on the EMI Japan label (formerly Toshiba-EMI), The Ventures were asked to produce a new CD, to be recorded over the next few months.

 

EMI-Japan has recognized that downloads are the new “single”, and their approach to sales now focuses on first offering individual tracks and “singles” – that is, two titles – through their own internet service.  They are targeting current movies as they are released to Japanese audiences, so many of the tracks on the new CD will likely be from such movies. 

 

The first 4 titles are scheduled to be released for on-line download in early December.  Later tracks will be released in the first few months of 2008, then a full CD, incorporating all the titles will be offered for sale in stores as well as on-line.
